I have found that Google Search options produce better results.
format is this: keyword keyword keyword :ar15.com Here's a good example: piccolo sec whiskey:ar15.com |

The simple search box at the bottom of a board works reasonably well, IIRC it's a 7 day search.
87% of GD dupes could be prevented with it, most of the rest are people not using descriptive titles.

I've never had a problem with the search. What trips most people up is the older or newer option. If you are looking for an active thread pick the farthest time back you can and newer. Or the closest time and older. That works too. If it's there, you will find it. Assuming you use the right search terms. If it's not there it probably went into limbo or the archive. Or got shit canned.
