Is this ever going to happen? The email account I currently use to reg here is a free account from a 4x4 forum that is as anonymous as anything google is doing with gmail, and yet it's "ok"...but gmail isn't. It's just annoying. I haven't logged into my "ok to use on arfcom" email account in many years. I don't even remember the password etc. So, when people use the "email user" button on a post, it essentially is sent to an internet blackhole and will never be read. Ever. It's 2016...can we at least consider changing this policy? There is zero chance that I'll ever actually use an email other than gmail...so....yeah. If simply being less annoying isn't legit justification for such a change, how about all the added $$$$$$ from increased membership? Ever done a google search for "ar15.com email policy" and seen what comes up? A long list of frustrated people on other forums. Hard to blame them. Why not make the registration "non-anonymous" in another way?

I am under the impression one can change their email when they become a  member.
Click on your screen name at the top left of screen. Change E-mail  button, click. You need to verify the new address within 24 hours.

Once you've registered with your "Legit" work e-mail, you can change your e-mail address in your user profile to be whatever you want.
They basically have this policy to keep trolls from setting up anonymous burner accounts and then spamming the site with porn.
