So we all love our whiskey and usually simple is best when it comes to that.  Some whiskey in a glass with maybe a bit of water or ice added.

That being said....not everybody loves whiskey and having a few tools (and an assortment of booze/mixers/garnishes) will allow you to make something to please just about anyone.

Essentials (If I don't mention something that is essential please post)

Heat Treated Pint Glasses

These are necessary IMO.  Any good bar is going to have pint glasses.  You can severe anything in them, and use them to shake drinks with a shaker.

Mixing Tin

These are used to mix/shake drinks.  You put ice in and whatever else you need, then pop a Pint Glass on top.  Shake.....Then usually strain with a

Hawthrone Strainer

Pretty self expanitory

Mixing Glass

Some people use fancy mixing glasses to mix their cocktails.  I had one that broke really easily when mixing with a spoon....So I personally prefer

600 ml Pyrex Beaker

For all my mixing needs.  It's a lot more sturdy and has measurements on the side.  You'll also want.

A Mixing Spoon

This one has a weighted end that you can use to break up ice (thats how I broke my original mixing glass)

Sometimes You Gotta Mash Stuff - Muddler

You'll eventually need to muddle something if you make enough drinks.  #caipirinha.  To measure stuff you'll definitely want a

JIGGER!

I use the Oxo one which has multiple measurements in it....But there are a ton of options.  I mostly found that a lot are not marked or just inconsistent.

To Get The Juice Out

You'll also probably want a small cutting board and a nice sharp knife to cut up lemons and limes....Making garnishes.  Matches for flaming peels....Something to pull corks out of wine bottles and caps off beer bottles....And an assortment of appropriate glassware.

So am I missing anything?

I would add a small pair of scissors for training mint leaves, sometimes they have a lil extra stem and it needs to be cut off.
A few spare corks in case you lose one.
A cork screw.
A small book of mixing recipes.
