Was the mead dry hopped, hops removed, and then put in the barrel?

I hopped it in the secondary carboy for 2 weeks, removed the hops and then casked it... :)

It tasted really good when I transferred it over. The cascade and citra I used offset  the sweetness of the sweet mead... Balancing it nicely...:)

That's awesome, I'm just getting into making mead. Superstition Meadery is nearby and I really like their barrel aged offerings.

How hard are the barrels to clean and sanitize or are they one time use?
