I think it would work.
Starting with the state of freedom, and applying possible events for gun control, can an accurate model predict eventual state of society?
If we start with state=freedom, and look at methods of gun control as events:
* Boiling frog= US model
* Too good to say no ($$) = Australia
* Totalitarian seizure (Nazi Germany)
Where do they take us? A state of temporary relief; but as we have seen, Australian and UK violent crime is up due to guns in the hands of criminals. If we look at Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea we can see what happens when only the government has guns, and all of the government is bad guys. Is there a path for US where gun control does not come to a totalitarian state? Is there an option to have a polite society without an armed populace? Has it ever happened? How, and where, does a "hiccup" (such as loss of power network, economic crash, etc.) fit into each state?
It would be interesting to see it charted.
