When I worked for TGIF in the 90's they made it in house. In the 2000's they bought Hidden Valley Ranch concentrate. You pour a gallon jug of it into a bin, and add ether milk or buttermilk (I forget) and mix it up I think a gallon jug of concentrate made 4-5 gallons of salad dressing.

Making it in house was a seasoning bag mixed with buttermilk, mayonnaise and sour cream. I forget how much of what, but we did it in fifteen gallon batches so a lot.

For my home recipe, I use Hidden Valley Ranch Mix.
Add mayonnaise.
Instead of milk, substitute Half-and-Half.
Very much richer and creamier.
Yes, there is more fat, if that is your concern you probably shouldn't be eating Ranch in the first place.

Weird but maybe true?

This is what they say:

I just ate a Chili's today, and our
waitress told us how Chili's make their delish rand
dressing.
1gal. mayo
1gal. buttermilk
then
they add their "own" spices.
i think you could probably get a
packet of hidden valley buttermilk ranch mix and of course downsize the
gallon size and you would have chili's ranch
