In 2013, the Colorado Legislature restricted the ability of law-abiding gun owners to protect themselves by limiting the amount of ammunition a firearm magazine can hold.  This arbitrary limit does nothing more than hinder the lawful right to self-defense of Coloradans because criminals do not follow the law.

At the start of the current session, House Bill 1024 was introduced by state Representatives Lori Saine (R-63) and Vicki Marble (R-23).  This legislation seeks to repeal this arbitrary limit on ammunition magazines.  HB 1024 has been referred to the House Committee on State, Veterans and Military Affairs where it will be scheduled for consideration.

Please contact members of the House Committee on State, Veterans and Military Affairs and politely urge them to support this important legislation.  Contact information can be found below.

It feels rather futile given the governors firm stance on this issue and the veto pen. Is there really any point to trying right now? Can you envision an scenario where the mag ban gets repealed?

No cause is ever "futile" brother......Politician's by and large follow the waves of legislative support - pro or con.  Remember they are elected by the people for the people.  Respectfully remind them of your stance.

I reside in New York.....we have many brothers and sisters who reside in the "prohibited" states.  If we don't "remind" those who passed these laws, they believe that they are in the "right" and the citizens of which they "serve" back them.

One needs to only look to the recent case in Maryland which gives us some glimmer of hope with our beloved black rifles and "evil" standard capacity magazines .......It all started because "the people" took a stand!

Hang tough my friend!
