The Oklahoma Legislature has failed to act decisively to preserve your Second Amendment rights against private interests who seek to ban your LEGAL right to peacefully carry in public spaces for self-defense.  Governor Mary Fallin has vetoed Senate Bill 41, and NRA members need to act now more than ever.  As the clock runs out on session, your legislators face their final opportunity to choose: protect gun owners’ rights or use misinformation and fear mongering by anti-gun interests as an excuse for inaction.

Contact House and Senate Leadership IMMEDIATELY, as well as your state legislators.  Tell them the time to act to stop erosion of state preemption is NOW!

As previously reported, the Oklahoma City Chamber disseminated misinformation regarding SB 41.  Despite the outcry from gun owners across the state, and multiple offers from pro-Second Amendment groups to work with the Governor’s office and legislators to clarity and alleviate these drummed up concerns, Governor Mary Fallin chose to veto the bill.

The NRA has been working non-stop with many parties, including legislators and The Oklahoma Second Amendment Association, to resolve this issue through either a veto-override or by offering language in other legislation headed to the Governor’s desk.  

Time for a solution is running out.  The Oklahoma Legislature must stop playing games and act NOW to pass legislation that protects Oklahoman’s law-abiding gun owners.
