New D.C. rules on carrying gun in public will be put to legal test next month


U.S. District Judge Frederick J. Scullin Jr. was quick Friday to dismiss a last-ditch request for reconsideration of his July ruling to legalize carrying a gun in public in the District.

Although it's a step in the right direction, it's still almost useless.



"Under the emergency legislation, applicants
will need to have "good reason to fear injury to his or her person or
property” or "any other proper reason for carrying a pistol.”
Firearms
still cannot be carried into D.C. schools, hospitals, government
buildings, public transportation vehicles, establishments that serve
alcohol, stadiums or arenas, or within 1,000 feet of a dignitary under
police protection."







I'm thinking just being in DC is enough for the "good reason".  The places off limits basically makes carrying impossible for tourists.







If only Rosa Parks would have just sat her butt in the back of the bus....
