The NRA Foundation kicks off their 2015 Grant Year

NRA Foundation supports grant funding to state or local law enforcement agencies, accredited schools and qualified, nonprofit organizations

Fairfax, Virginia - The NRA Foundation is the country's foremost charitable organization serving the shooting sports and safeguarding the exercise of our Second Amendment rights. Since its inception in 1990 The Foundation has awarded over 32,000 grants totaling more than $230 million. Grants benefit programs such as youth education, law enforcement training, hunter education, historical firearms, conservation, firearms and marksmanship training and safety, and much more.

The 2015 grant cycle has begun and the new grant application is now available. Eligibility guidelines, rules and the application are available online at http://www.nrafoundation.org/apply-for-a-grant.aspx. There is a helpful “Frequently Asked Questions” page, which applicants will find useful. Applicants begin with an easy five question eligibility quiz that will direct them to the correct application, either the General Grant Application or the Range Grant Application. Prospective applicants can also find their state application submission information and deadline from this page.

Grants are awarded in accordance with Internal Revenue Service rules and regulations and in the furtherance of the Foundation’s mission.  The NRA Foundation supports grant funding to state or local law enforcement agencies, accredited schools and qualified, nonprofit organizations.  Boy Scout troops, the NRA Eddie Eagle Gun Safe Program, 4-H groups, the Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.), nonprofit ranges and many other qualified programs benefit from NRA Foundation funding.

“Nonprofit organizations involved in firearm-related activities or defense of the Second Amendment can be considered for grant awards,” said Ruthann Sprague, Grant Manager. “We are proud to support organizations and programs that ensure our shooting and hunting heritage.”

Specific grant forms, guidelines, eligibility requirements and submission deadlines are available online at: www.nrafoundation.org or by contacting the NRA Foundation Grant Department at 1-800-554-9498.
