I have a issue with a Telecaster (California Fat Tele), had the guitar for many years. The neck feels like playing double edged saw blade
as a mater of fact that's why I put this guitar in the corner for many years, the Neck wood (maple) shrunk after a year or two and the frets stayed the same.
looks like this video is the only solution

I don't think it can be fixed without screwing the wood up a bit, I realize it only matters how it sounds but it's got a real nice patina now
or should I send it to a pro luthier?
eta:
looks like this one only shiny Candy Apple Red, not dull in the photo

has Tex Mex pickups, great sound
mine still has factory stickers on it. made in USA, painted in Mexico

Looks like you could do it yourself if you have a decent file.

A luthier would probably do the finish touch up as part of the work though.

I have done a lot of guitars over the years. I had to do my American strat.

Just go to YouTube and look up how-to vids on fretjobs. There's several.

That.   Along with, take your time. Don't rush it.  You can't put wood or metal back on once filed off.

Personally, I would take it to my luthier.  Especially, if it was a time consuming job or I wanted to make sure the guitar looked the same after I was finished.

My luthier wouldn't charge very much for that.  He has filed and adjusted lots of frets for me, especially on new guitars. I have had a couple guitars that definitely weren't cheap that had horrible frets out of the box.

Have a '86 Jackson USA Soloist with 'fret sprout'.

Ebony board and fret edges hanging off.

Ebony...feels great but obviously shrinks more than rosewood.

Someday I'll fix it.
