I want to find some new music. Anyone have any rock, hard rock, metal, etc artists or bands that are good, but I probably have not heard of yet?

Please nothing where all they do is scream like a monster. No country or any of that, sorry!

I recently discovered a band called The Pretty Reckless that I dig.

Have you tried listening to folk metal?

This thread has some decent recommendations.

Lot's of good old school stuff there. I had forgotten all about Grand Magus, that song kicks ass.

I've also been digging that Graveyard, good band.

True story...
My mother used to hang out with Randy California (Spirit), and her & her siblings grew up in the "Golden Age" of rock. Her & my uncles got to see all the great classic rock acts back in the day, from the Beatles, Janis Joplin, The Doors, Hendrix, The Cream, Zep, etc. One of my earlier memories was the giant Bob Dylan poster hanging in my parent's bedroom.

So the other day, I played Graveyard's Hisingen Blues for her - and she said "hey that's good", followed by a slightly puzzled "I don't remember that band." She actually thought it was a recording from the early 70's!

Oh, listening to KADAVAR's Doomsday Machine recently - good stuff. I've been grooving to a lot of this "stoner metal"... I guess you don't need pot to enjoy tasty licks played on an SG.
