I believe those T38s are from Vance in Enid, OK. Yup. One of the few bright spots of going to visit family out that way |

Seeing those T-38s from Vance do touch and go's at the airfield at Ft. Sill made basic training a lot more enjoyable. The apaches and other stuff I saw flying around out there didn't hurt either.

Very nice shots.
Oh what I would give to get a ride in that F-100. Love that plane. |

Thanks so much! That was my first time seeing a F-100 fly. I'm a younger guy, F-100's were long since retired when i was born. I had the cheesiest grin on my face the whole time. BTW the afterburner on that guy...wow, quite a hard thump when it lights, sounds like a little explosion, What a great jet. ETA: Every time he hit the burner, right before it lit, a small white puff of raw jet fuel would come out...Awesome https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3941/15093705543_8c868c3c48_b.jpg View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I was his first student. He had just come back from Nam flying F-100's. We had not seen each other in 40 years when I ran into him at the airplane on Friday. I was flying the dark blue Corsair in the show. |

What??? No ME 262 pics?? What did Ya'll think of the "Vietnam" re-enactment? It was our first time trying it, only worked it out on paper before the show.

My wife and I were with RogerRoger (our son) and we all decided that the dark blue Corsair was our favorite WWII fighter.
The Bearcat was a close 2nd place however. Always great to watch Steve Hinton fly the Bearcat !! We all thought the Vietnam demo was awesome. We were at show center next to the photographer's pit. I could imagine that being near a hot LZ felt and sounded something like that. Overall the whole show was awesome. Really great to see the F-100, Migs & the 262. Great selection of classic warbirds too ! Great work guys !! I think I got some DNA on the Albatross. I spent a lot of time lusting over it......going to have to get a seaplane rating some day. |

Charlotte's Chariot II in the above spread used to be owned by Dan Fordice in Vicksburg, MS. Served in the same SF unit in the MS ARNG back in the day for a few years. Not sure if he still owns it or sold it...I remember seeing a youtube video of him having the original pilot of the named plane at a airport and he flew her into there and let him get up in it. Pretty neat....

Some where around 1/9th and 1/10th. Wing span is about 43". This picture may give you a better idea to size. This one has a 55" wingspan, but isn't quite ready to fly. Soon though. |

Since this became a Focke Wulf thread I will leave this sad picture right here. Guy here at BTR restored it. Few weeks back the guy driving it landed long and did this. You're looking at an aircraft equipped with a firefighting system. The "snorkel" is what sucks up water to replenish the tank, when hovering over a water source like a pond, lake, ect. I'm guessing by the look of the cockpit, a Ka-32? |
