Thanks! This pic was taken "behind" the show, at the perimeter fence at the end of one of the runways. It certainly provided some different angles. This was at the beginning of the high alpha pass .

That’s a Jumo-004 turbine blade, the same that powered the ME-262.

Would if I could. This was at the National Museum of the Marine Corps. It's tucked in the back in a new exhibit under construction. It wasn't advertised, but it wasn't closed off either.

For some reason I just love that airplane. Except for those tricycle gear turbo conversions.  I see one fly out of FLL sometimes and it makes me want to kick whoever came up with that idea square in the junk.

Nice pictures!

I have those same yard tool racks in my garage that are just under the bombs.  Didn't know those were WWII vintage!

I was attempting to take a crappy cell phone picture of the NYC skyline yesterday on a connecting flight in Newark and a 737 photobombed the picture.  Luck would have it that the camera picked up and focused on the 737 and somehow snapped the photo more or less in the center of the frame.

Interesting powerplant.   Looks like a continental flat 4 but with a turbine on the end.  Turbo compound maybe?

What you're seeing is a squirrel cage cooling fan, run directly off the crankshaft.

Think the blower motor in the dash of your car , but mounted directly to the engine lol.

Makes a lot of sense...hard to air cool that thing behind the cabin.  I was thinking liquid cooling for some reason.  Makes perfect sense now!

We have some big squirrel cage cooling fans to cool some our diesel electric power plans in big mining trucks.   Couple hundred HP just to drive the fan!

My first real flying job was flying those turbine 18 conversions. I’ve flown one of the two that they have in FLL.
