Very cool, what were you tools?  Guessing that isn't an I-phone...

I like sitting in the back yard and watch the flights and use flight aware or other apps to see the flights and info.  Pretty cool what is going overhead, especially when the info is "not available".

Those were taken handheld in my back yard with the D500 and the Tamron 150-600mm lens (at 600, of course).  Cropped to about 25% original size.

Used FlightRadar24 to get flight info.  We're on the path from Dulles/Reagan National to points south.

This is the lens (but on my old D7100 body)
DSCN2043-D7100_Tamron600 by FredMan, on Flickr

With the crop-sensor in the D500 it's equivalent to a 900 mm lens on full-frame bodies.

*NOTE* Any pictures I post between now and next week will NOT be processed - not even cropped. I'm just going to sort my pictures each day and post a few straight out of the camera. I'll go back and post a few after I process them. Whenever that is.

Thanks.

My new Nikon D750/MB-D16 grip and I rented a Nikkor #20058 200mm-500mm f/5.6 and a gimbal head. I'm really digging this setup and I'll probably be buying this lens shortly.

Memory cards loading onto the computer now. I'll have some more from today later.

Again - these are NOT processed.

And yea........it's a photo dump, lol. Not sure if I should apologize for that. Not as much flying today, but some good shots and some surprise arrivals.

I was at that same air show today. It was really disappointing they didn't fly cause of high winds and low clouds. Still always cool to walk around and talk to people and see everything in the hangers. Seems like there's always something new.

These are the only decent photos I got on my iPotato.

Very nice! The CAF did manage to get some paid flights out, but the weather rolled in right as the main flight ops were to start. The PT-19 pilot stood down for the brief bit of rain, but he was back up and running and turning rides when I left around 1700.

Are you busy tomorrow and still in the area? They announced today that they would honor any and all purchased tickets (including Saturday one-day tickets) tomorrow. If the weather is decent at all, they WILL fly. I'm acquainted with a few pilots, the head of maintenance, and have had a couple short conversations with the owner - they will do everything in their power to fly tomorrow.

I'll probably be set up near the bleachers with another ARFCOMmer and my wife. We'll have chairs, two tripods, a cooler, etc. You won't be able to miss us

Last day. Weather decided to split the difference today. Less wind and a higher ceiling; but still overcast. Lighting wasn't as good for photography, but I think I got a couple decent ones in there...

Going to be busy with a project at work for a few weeks, but hopefully I can tinker and process a few of the pictures from this weekend soon.

Any way I can buy the digital file for this?  I'd love to print it out and hang it behind my desk at work.  Just a great picture.
