You guys have some really nice planes! Here is a pic of my Cherokee 140. Nothing really fancy but plane is in good shape and has basic IFR and autopilot so meets my needs and more importantly... it fits in my limited budget.

Yep, nice plane.  Not as nice as Dad's Champ above, but I admit that I may be a bit biased.

What I really want to know is, who parked that plane?

ETA: Yeah, I'm jealous.

Posted this on another flying site. So you may have seen it there. Saying I am a little excited is an understatement so worth repeating (at least for me).  172M

I got signed off on my BFR a couple of weeks ago and flew all by myself for the first time since 1993.  Not perfect but considering only 7.8 hours logged including this flight in the last 20+ years I think they are alright (probably a little fast crossing the fence on a few).  Been a long year I started loosing weight last June 17th and I have lost 85 pounds started taking lessons again and got the medical done in February and now have the BFR squared away.  I just need to get some hours in and then hopefully by next year tailwheel endorsement possibly complex.  Oh and of course figure out how to pay for all this.

Here are a few videos (GoPro mounted on my hat) if your bored and need something to do. Sorry I can't embed spending my money on flying.

Last landing of the day

Touch and go

Another but pretty much the same

ETA: The stall horn on this plane is not working.

who parked it... I just took up flying (12 hours) so my parking skills are still pretty weak. Like that champ btw. Neighbor of ours has one and they look like fun little planes.

The Champ is a blast.  You just can't be in a hurry.  It's a different kind of flying... more about the journey than the destination.     Looking forward to some more 140 pics!

I'm an old guy who decided to learn to fly and bought a Cherokee 140. Had another little milestone today... flew thru my first bit of rain this evening. While flying back from a local airport to my base airport... had a bit of rain. Just a sprinkle and no bad winds but still felt kinda weird to experience my first rain on the windshield. Baby steps closer to my PPL :)

It wants to fly fast all the time. Vh rolling slick a couple weeks ago at sea level was like 170 knots. They all have a fresh coat of paint and new transmissions, but the rest of the guts, mainly the APU and ECS parts are old delta refurbs, and an absolute maintenance nightmare. Worked out most of the bugs on our birds, but other than that, it will be nice being able to keep up with the chinooks... ;)

We finished the Phase I - V on her this week and flew her to the avionics shop for some stuff above our pay grade.

Then we picked her up for an A & B check. Without the TRs they are different airplanes!

I'm really digging this new direction in career and learning more about my profession by the day. For example, if you're the smallest guy in the shop you can expect to spend a lot of time in the tails of airplanes. The upside being the cockpit of the 35 isn't cramped at all!
