ive got many video files on a zip drive that i would like to play on my ps3. when i plug the drive in i can get the ps3 to recognize the folders by pressing the triangle but it would see the actual video files. they are a mix of .avi and .mkv format.

funny thing is i have a sony brand bluray player that looks to have the same software/interface as the ps3 and i can see and play them fine in that.

any ideas on how to get my ps3 to see them?

I think they have to a MP4 & be on a modded system.
