Growing up, my parents had a Pioneer laserdisc player.
Once it was obsolete, they unfortunately stored it in the garage where is slowly rotted away. Now that I have their old laserdiscs (SW: ESB, T2, Raiders of the Lost Ark, to name a few), I needed a player to use them with. Yesterday, a neighbor put his collection and player up for sale. I responded and picked it all up last night. For $30, I got: Pioneer CLD-S350 player (plays CDs too) in fantastic shape. Star Wars trilogy in widescreen format Heavy Metal Aliens Total Recall T2 Top Gun Lethal Weapon 2 Some various live music performances. A total of 18 discs. The Star Wars trilogy alone has got to be more valuable than $30.

Nice so laser disc was before HDMI cables how does this look on a modern TV?

A lot of the discs are starting to suffer from Disc Rot. It sucks because I really like the media as a kid.

If the OP is really attached to his Laserdisc collection, they can be transferred to HD.
I did something similar to my collection of VHS movies that never made it to DVD. |

Heck, an operational player is worth more than $30.
You did well, just on the player. With the movies. you made out like a bandit. Nice score! |

Guess I get to buy an adapter. Was gonna get one anyway for my older game systems. |
