Oh God Our Help in Ages Past
I'm pretty fond of The Blind Boys of Alabama singing "Amazing Grace" to the tune of "House of the Rising Sun" too. I was raised Mennonite so for me hymns are an integral part of the worship service. Even better if they are acapella. Praise music?? Meh for me! |

Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing Alas and Did My Savior Bleed? It is Well When I Survey the Wondrous Cross As far as contemporary music, I like the "Cornerstone" song better than most, because the theology is expressed so well in the lyrics similar to the old classics. |

I have seen it. I appreciate some of those songs. Let me be clear that I have nothing against people listening to praise music, I just don't care for a lot of it in a church setting. Some of it has the focus more on man than on God. However, I am NOT saying that it is bad music to listen to. I just personally prefer hymns.
