That's a lot of car for little money.

I just wonder how reliable the w12 is. I saw used engines from about 10k to 13k for sale.

It has a 6hp26 trans...same one as my navigator.

VW engineering, so I wonder why type of little electrical gremlins are out there.

I did see that the front break pads were about $200 a set.

I wonder what the odds are that someone can buy it at $40,000 use it for 3-4 years then sell it for $25,000 and just have normal maintenance items

Money pit!

"Window Regulators Tend to Go Bad: While its no big issue in most cars as it’s a quick and cheap fix, the Bentley window regulators are $1200 a piece (not including labor).

Seat Motors: The motors that push your seats in all 23 adjustable directions are very weak. Our car’s seat motors were fixed at a cost of $2800 for both under factory warranty."

Go look at pictures of a window reg for a similar year A8 and then for a Conti. Then report back.

As far as the seat motors, set driving position and then unplug..lol

VAG isn't going to engineer a part from scratch that you can't see.

Oh no, they'd never go crazy super-complicating a hidden component for no good reason.

I'd say a rear deck hinge is somthing you see.

I am sure there are some one off things on the Conti.

I may do that in a few years.

I'll finally be out from all the damn failed business debt.

I'll have my full shop by then so I can do engine out stuff if need be.

Carmax that shit with a full bumper to bumper warranty.

I've seen a few bloggers do the same with range rovers and aston martin's.

The only part on the C5 Corvette, which wasn't an expensive car, that wasn't proprietary was the door handle. It came off a Buick I think.

On a Bentley...

That is not true at all.

Engine, trans, brakes, audio system, keys, and a lot of other things were shared with other models.

For example, Gen 1 dodge viper front spindles? same as a Dakota.

Pads and rotors cross ref to some other car models. I thin the only diffrent is they other pads don't have the wear monitor...oh well,.
