I just picked up a truck with the rambox body, I'm not sure if I'm 100% sold or not.

My first thought was "This is the coolest thing ever.."
Now I'm not so sure.  Anyone have it?  Like it hate it?  Any suggested accessories? (other than the gun holster - duh)
Thanks!

I don't have one, but having some extra lockable storage never hurts.

Can it be filled with ice and beer?

Well then, nothing more needs to be said, good buy.

They sure seem practical, until someone pries them open to steal tools. That would be an expensive repair.

How much cargo area does it take up?  That was the deal breaker for me. Although I have yet to see one in person.

The inside bed measurements are still 4'2" wide I think, basically the same space you have inside the fenderwells.

I ordered some racks to make a gun mount today.  They also lock with the door locks, so no worrying about remembering to lock them.

It is a sorta-neat idea, but I know that some asshole is going to fuck up the side of my truck breaking into that 'tool box'.  I went with the standard bed, which is handy.  A golf cart or a Yamaha Rhino will not fit in a ram-box.  May as well buy a utility truck.

I probably would not have paid extra for it, but I think I will like them.

If you go that route you'll not be able to get a cap for the back, possibly no tonneu covers either.  Kinda limits some of the utility of a truck in that regard, but if those are of no interest for you then I see very few negatives to it

I've got a '14 Ram Ecodiesel without the Rambox, mostly due to needing more bed space. It's a cool idea, think I'd get a tonneau cover for it.

Retrax makes some nice ones.

look at everyone who's owned one for a few years, they all have scratches and dings on the side of their trucks from hitting it while trying to put stuff in the boxes.

Buddy of mine has one and loves it. I opted against it when I got my 2014 Ram 1500 but only because I had a cap put on it to camp under.
