Anyone else getting hit with HUGE numbers of Jeeps getting stolen? Omaha has been awash in thefts of Jeep Cherokees in the last few months, 20+ Jeeps if I had to guess.

2013 JKR with 2" Teraflex leveling kit, 285/70r17 DuraTracs on AEV Savegres, and factory 4.10 gearing.

And the Teraflex HD Hinged Carrier I installed today.

At 90 lbs, the 33" spare isn't that heavy compared to some of the tires in this thread, but I smoked my TJ's hinges by hanging too much weight, so I feel better about beefing them up.

Took my 3-day weekend to pull out my interior and spray in bed liner. Prep was a PIA but it came out really nice. Difficult to spray the footwells, I'll need to go back in with a spray paint can and get some areas I couldn't reach with the spray gun.

Yep, that's a great Jeep color. Even 75+ years later military-type colors look best.

My '90, I'm gathering parts for a ground-up rebuild. Mercedes OM617, 700R4/4L60E, NP231 (or the NP241OR from my '06 Rubicon), Ford Dana 60 front & disc brake GM 14-bolt FF rear with the lowest gears I can find, SOA, SRS, and 38s.

1953 M38A1 delivered first to the USMC, then I am told transferred to Air National Guard at Staniford Field, Louisville KY.  My first "jeep" anything, and first classic vehicle.  Nearly no rust, was repainted USMC semi gloss green maybe 25 years ago by a USAF Korea veteran who barely drove it in the 25 years he owned it.

Yeah, I get about 47 MPH out of this bad boy.  Had a stuck open thermostat, clogged up radiator and ancient hoses, leaks a few drops of oil and the parking brake doesn't work in reverse.  Vacuum wipers are INOP until I crack the motors open and find out why, and waiting on a new water temp sending unit so I can be sure my coolant system fixes are good to go.

I still want a YJ or CJ7...but I just haaaad to have a military model to start with.

Thank ye fellas.  I'm still pretty jealous of you all and your ability to hit speeds of 50 mph+.  I told myself I'd be content to do the real driving with one of our daily drivers but...I still want a wrangler in addition to the willys.

That's awesome! I Can't decide if my next one will be an m38 or a Jeepster.

Someone had a beautiful FC150 at the last show I went to. First one I had seen in person.

I would go with m38, surely its easier to find parts between them and the CJ2's out there.  I have to say the flat fender look is so much more "Jeepy", but at 6'2" I don't know if I could fit in an M38.  The A1 I have to hunch down a little to see through the windshield and I can't wear hiking boots cause the pedals are too close together lol.

Overlooking skagit valley from north side of Iron mt (facing west)

Love the rubicon, its a damn billy goat with those 4:10 gears and 4:1 transfer case. Considering upgrading to the unlimited version but I'm worried about breakover angle.

Scratched the paint up pretty badly on the trails so we just Line-X'd it. I'm going to leave it as a mall crawler until spring, but then the beadlocks go back on it and it will be back on the trails.

Thanks. It's Mojave Sand which was a color available for a few months earlier this year from Jeep on the Wranglers. I looked up the paint code and gave it to the guys at Line-X. They took the Jeep apart, sprayed everything, and put it back together. As you can see, it was a ton of work since the Jeep started out as black.

That was about a month without the Jeep and around $7K for the Line-X, painting, disassembly, and reassembly. They also customized and installed the new hood, various accessories, and installed the new top and tires and wheels. In all, the project with the new leather interior was a little under $15K. Obviously, that doesn't include all the prior modifications. To do an entire Jeep like this, you need about an $80K budget including buying the Jeep.

Good eye. That's exactly what it is. I love having 1:1, 2.72:1, 4:1, and 10.88:1.

New long term 1990 YJ project.

Dana 60 front, 14 bolt rear, 5.13 gears, Detroit lockers front and rear, 205 gear drive transfer, TH400 with a 454, high steer conversion with hydraulic ram assist, rear disc brake conversion, and custom HD driveshafts. Jeep was being built as a mud runner and I'm going to finish it as a trail rig. The 454 will either get fuel injection or will get pulled for an LS. The rear suspension will be changed to a 4 link and coils and possibly the front also.   The electric fuel pump is currently non functional, I did get to run it and lot drive it before purchase with a small gravity flow fuel tank. I've been planning a similar Jeep for quite some time and I was able to pick this one up for far less than the price of just the parts.  The things I have to change or re-do are more than offset by the low price.

The Jeep had 49" tires on it at one time, but I'm thinking somewhere around 40" will be about right. I'm also planning on AC, as I like to be comfortable on the trail.
