~130k miles.

Wife's car

Changed the water pump. Next day check gauges light came on for a bit. (no idea how long).  went off by it's self.

Next trip, light went on, is still on.


Air bubble in the system?

just so happened to kill the alternator while changing the waterpump.

Only because you have to move it and the AC compressor to get to a hose.

That sucks. Those alternators are usually pretty reliable.

My wife later admitted she moved the alternator to help scrape off the old gasket while I was at work. She hit Positive terminal to ground, and sparked it.

May have toasted a winding, getting shorted like that.

Well, she replaced the alternator yesterday, so hopefully all is good.

I hope so. If not I'm pretty sure your voltage regulator is part of the PCM.
