The stacking craze hit me pretty hard this past year and I am happy I did so.

Now I am thinking about selling some well under performing funds (actually funds that have taken a significant loss) and rolling the proceeds into ETFs and mutuals related to precious metals.

Any thoughts or hints at those I should be looking at?

1.  Are you an investor or a trader?

2.  Why are you buying metals?  Profit or protection.

Self-directed investor ( the Edward Jones guy lost 15% for me in the first year)

Protection (put about 20% of current liquid assets in the physical metals)

"Don't fight the Fed."

While the metals had a pretty good run over the past few months, interest rate jitters have cause them to get slammed in the past few weeks.  I don't think we're going to see any interest rate hikes soon.  There's no reason to do so now, and I doubt the Fed will hike right before the presidential election but after that, look out.

I have about 5-8% depending as a protective hedge; 20% would be a lot IMO.

I focus more on Pt, Pd and Ag for their industrial uses.

No ETFs.  Go with shares.

Unless you have a relatively large sum to invest, ETFs are the way to go.

Buying one or two miners (streamers, whatever) would be a pretty risky posture in a pretty risky asset class.
