The correct call would have been a yellow card for Fred for simulation. It would also have sent the message that diving would not be tolerated and possibly set the tone for the entire tournament. Of course, Yuichi Nishimura wanted to leave the stadium in one piece so it didn't happen.

I was hoping the Netherlands would win, but ended up feeling bad for Spain. They're not a team who deserve losing 5-1. They still have a chance though.
Will be cheering for England tonight. |

My son and I watched the game here in our hotel here in Hamburg on the projection TV. Raucous crowd, up to eight young spaniards in the crowd. They were hamming it up up early and cursing the dutch. A couple of German kids werw cheering for the dutch, which I couldn't understand. The dutch are our arch enemies in soccer. Either way: It was exciting to watch in the big crowd.

We invented it and it works but despite the catenaccio we could have scored another two, believe me against the oranges catenaccio will not work so it depend of the team that we are playing ..... It's only the first game still a long way to go ... And the Germans looks really good

Man, what is it with the Iberian teams this year? I was hoping Germany would win, but I didn't want Portugal to get completely slaughtered. It looks like Muller is on a good start for another golden boot.
As for the US, I'm glad we secured third place in the group.
