Most consumer grade routers should have an IPSEC, PPTP, or even an MSSE client built-in.
You could also just build a very inexpensive Linux box with two network interfaces, install and configure a VPN client on that, and have it function as your uplink. |

current setup unlikely
i bought a pfsense router and standalone AP for this purpose and it works flawlessly if i were to do it again i would buy a SG 1000 and a uniquiti unifi AP |

The least expensive way to do what you want is to get a cheap used router that you can load the OpenVPN version of DD-WRT on.
DD-WRT is free firmware that replaces the existing firmware. Just look at the DD-WRT wiki and see if the OpenVPN version is supported on that used router before you buy it. |

I looked on nordvpn.com and they have instructions and a list of routers that will allow me to use my subscription and set up my router using their servers. Now to just get one.

i used Nordvpn my last vpn service and i have to be honest their software is Horrible.
their support is horrible, i got a email reply about once every 12 hours i could not stand using their service. it was not reliable for Apple, android or WIndows. each update/ beta version got worse. i was glad when my subscription was up |
