I need to set my parents up with their first wireless router.  It will be in a cabinet so take that into consideration.

Eta:  Basic internet usage via wifi and a hardwired cat 6 connection for t.v. streaming.

How is being in a cabinet any different than going through walls and floors?

I already have a cat 6 run to the location for hardwire to the t.v.  The wireless feature will simply be for my dads laptop and or phone.

Because you are adding another layer for the wireless signal to travel through/around.  Not to mention one that is in the immediate vicinity of the router.
