I was trying to disable Cortana using the gpedit but the free version of Win 10 does not offer the editor. Is their another way? I've got CCcleaner and Spybot on my computer. Both have features for turning programs on and off at start-up but I can't find Cortana listed with either of them.

Yes...Found a simpler way to kill it..

I tried all the turning the settings off but Cortana still runs in the background. The free Win 10 doesn't let you access the GP editor..

So I booted in Safe Mode and hid the cortana folder by putting an X in front of the folder name. Restarted and Cortana was dead...
