just updated to win7&ie 8
do i want to update ie8 to ie11 is there a 12? and keep the classic views of 8? anyon familiar with ie 9 10 11 12? |

Yes, you want to upgrade IE8 to IE11 for the much better security. Even if you don't use it.
Swapping to a different browser, is always another option, but overblown by most accounts. I have three browsers installed. Some sites work better with certain browsers than others. |

I was working on the updates today, did the clean install on a Thinkpad the other day/ I did have some websites that didn't like IE 11 on my old Thinkpad so today I installed IE9 first then IE11 with the rest of the updates. this is just in case I have to revert, I like IE9 better than IE8. So far everything is working great.

I think it's simply personal preference. I'm a Safari (cause I own a Mac) and a Chrome (cause what OS doesn't it run on?) guy.

never min last ?????? ie update took me to 11 automatically so now I get to see how different it is thanks all for info and the not so much!!

If you want you can download 9 and have it just in case. 8 is the version you want to not have. I have seen some sites that don't work well with IE10-11, however recent updates to both IE11 and the sites seem to have fixed it (mostly media sites). |
