I can't speak much about the drone stuff, but more and more content online is going to 4k. Even if you don't post it in 4k, shooting in 4k does have its advantages. Namely being able to crop without sacrificing much if you intend to render 1080p and if you don't crop, downsampling the 4k to 1080 actually produces a more detailed image than a native 1080 shot.
In short, if you have the processing power and storage to handle 4k, it is worth considering, even if you don't intend to post 4k content. |

Do you have a 4k monitor?
Will your current computer system be able to keep up with all the extra ones and zeros? It sounds like you are editing video now so none of that may be an issue. But something to think about in the way of added expenses if you are going to jump up in technology. |

Why the 4 over the 3 professional? I know it is newer but I believe it has the same camera

I decided to get the Phantom 3 pro. I didn't want to spend that much more on the Phantom 4.
