Thanks Zack :)  I really was worried the aurora was going to come out iffy, as it's for an arfcommer.  The sunset still blows me away that I completely pulled the camera settings out of my ass on it.

For the quality you get (at least through the shop I worked at up here) the prices are great.  All 3 prints were ~$82 all said and done.  The aurora is a 11x14, 8x12 on sunset, and the 8x10 on the Alise paper (seriously it does amazing contrast/darks) was only $5, crazily enough.

Thought so.  I've spent a good bit of time over there lately as I recently picked up a Mustang GT.  The yellow car with that background is stunning.  Nicely done on the exposure!

I tried a new editing style. The guy uses this technique for zoo pictures. It allows you to black out the background.

I wish I would have bracketed this shot.  Maybe I'll try some HDR wizardly later to even it out a bit.  Shot was taken along the Beartooth Highway just outside Yellowstone...awesome road!

lol

It certainly can be. With my old gear I was getting annoyed with the quality of my stuff. I thought it was just me not being very good, but I still scraped up enough for a new body and lens. Holy hell, did it make a difference!

What are you running?

I had a Canon 7Dmk2 and upgraded to a 5Dmk4.  Started getting back out a month or so ago but just wasn't happy with what I was capturing. After talking with my brother who I will call a semi pro photog he recommended I go full frame and I'm so happy i did.  That pic was shot with a rokinon 14mm f/2.8 iso was 4000 and a 30 sec exposure.

The question to wonder is, will the White House be bathed in those colors this year.
What say you?

This little ball of fluff was driving the dog nuts all day today.    I also built a lightbox for small stuff.   $10 worth of foamcore, gaffers tape, poster board, 2 sheets of paper, and 2 strings of LED lights I had floating around.

Stinking black helicopters not flying low enough to let me get a good photo.

And yes, I know the shutter speed I was using was way too high.  The 500mm lens I have requires a 1/1000 or the like, otherwise you get a lot of blur/shake in photos.

If you are asking me, I say that the Military will obey the orders and directives of the elected civilian government as it has always done.
What the White House does I couldn't guess.

No, it will do 200, 400, 800 & 1600 ISO.
It was made in 1999 and has been a workhorse for sure. It is time to retire it for sure as it gives me about 50 pics per battery charge and is starting to have some issues in functioning.
