I'm going to begrudgingly buy it because Homeworld 1 & 2 were amazing, but I'm still pissed off at Gearbox after the Aliens: Colonial Marines debacle.

All the *skeets*. All of them, everywhere.
It's sad to me, honestly, that old games and HD versions of old games (read Lucasarts on GoG) are more exciting than anything actually new right now. Hollywood is the same way, mostly reboots. |

I'd have to say that of all the games I ever played Homerworld was the best. So glad to see this.
On a side note I thought I remember hearing about a Homeworld 3 in the works? Here is a gameplay video.

Awesome... on the wishlist it goes.
Really hoped they fixed the fleet mechanics. Capital ships should stay in formation, while fighters and corvettes patrol within a sphere around the task force. Micromanagement and stupid low unit caps pissed me off to no end. |

Seeing the Ads for this. I reinstalled my old copies of the Homeworld 1 & 2.
And while looking up how to play it at 1920 x 1080, I ran across thishttp://www.moddb.com/mods/homeworld-2-ultra-high-graphics. Its a update for Homeworld 2. I'm downloading and going to install it later. Hold me over till the remaster comes out.

I have a date tonight so I probably won't get to play much if at all. Plus last night I accidentally knocked a glass if tea over and some of it got into my fancy mechanical keyboard so I quickly disconnected it and disassembled it and cleaned it out and put it in front of a big fan ask night and day. Hopefully it's ok.

The original game is looking amazing now. It'd be nice if Bethesda remastered Morrowind. I never played that one in its heyday. I know some modders are working on bringing it into the Skyrim engine but who knows if it will ever be finished or done properly.

Got to Mission 4. Loving it all over again so far with two exceptions.
1) The newest saved games should be at the top of the saved game list. It's a small gripe but it makes little sense to have to scroll down to see the save game you're most likely to load. 2) No windowed fullscreen mode/borderless windowed mode. It's 2015. This should be a standard feature in all games. If a game lacks it you can usually still force it through a few different utilities (which I do). It's annoying but not a huge deal in most games that lack it. BUT!!!!!! Gearbox limits your windowed resolution to the resolution tier BELOW what your native/max resolution is. So Anybody with a 1080p monitor can only play in windowed mode at a 1680x1050 max size. I have a 1440p monitor so I can only window up to 1980x1200. WHAT IN THE HELL were they thinking when they implemented this feature?  Trying to force it by editing the CFG file doesn't seem to work. So basically you can't do borderless windowed mode even with a utility because only part of the screen shows the game when you expand the window to full screen. |

Wish they fixed the AI... strike craft have a bad habit of trying to fly directly through things and exploding. Formations still wonky; selecting one cancels all your queued up orders for the group. Capital ships spin slowly in circles trying to figure out where the formation starts.

Overall, I'm pleased with it. Strong sales should help HW: Shipbreakers and lead to a HW3. |
