Can anyone explain why Connect and Strava have different records of my PRs? I think Strava only counts full miles, and Garmin/Connect takes snapshots where the begining and end of a distance can be anywhere inside a longer distance. Make sense?

Strava does the same with regards to distances (takes fastest 5k out of a 6k run, for instance). Strava does some smoothing out of the GPS data that's a little different than how Garmin does it, though. The difference in how they adjust the raw GPS data is how they may end up with different distances, paces, etc.

Looks like I'm also having trouble getting Connect to update. Their site said there was server issues. We'll see if it works today.

Managed to run my watch dead again, but this time I was able to note the distance at the turn around, 2.43mi.

I don't know if I'm ready, but this is going to be my longest. Starting a three week taper tomorrow.

The Missoula marathon has around 300' elevation gain over the whole race. The track I ran today had 1136'

Best of luck to you! Running hills that are worse than what your race has is great training.

Two 3-mile sections at my lactate threshold today, with 1 mile easy between them.

I had taken Saturday off (in addition to Sunday, my usual day off), and my legs felt really heavy today. Running those paces seemed to be less stressful than usual, but it felt harder to get my legs moving fast enough, if that makes sense.

I'm hoping to get back in the groove soon. Meetings and vacation really put a damper on June so far. I am just over 30 miles for the month. I woke up to rain this morning, so no run today. I did get to put in some miles on a few trails while on vacation though. It was a welcome change from the usual road running.

Missoula is an awesome race.  Course is great and the weather that time of the year is perfect.  Good luck!
