Monday, I was doing bench presses and felt a pain in my right shoulder.  It was not bad, so I kept going, finishing my presses, then doing some bicep curls and pull downs.

During the night, my shoulder started hurting and it was hurting BAD the next morning.

I took the rest of the week off lifting to see if it would get better.  It is a little better, but still hurts.

Should I get back to lifting?  I can get my arm back enough to attempt some squats, but I am leery of doing any arm work for now.

I think you would be making a mistake if you start lifting again if it's still sore.

It's tough to say over the Internet. Sometimes I'll get pains that require me to shock the muscle into behaving, then I'm stronger than ever. Other times you need to rest. I go out of my way to pay attention to my joints, but show no remorse for winey muscles.

Is it a muscle pain or a joint pain?

Hopefully it isn't impingement issues.  I had that in my left shoulder several months ago, and it really, really sucked.  Did get over it eventually though.  I think it was caused by a combination of bench pressing and how I'd been sleeping.

If you aren't taking MSM, go buy some.

I have a bad right shoulder from work, it became apparent after doing stucco for an entire summer. It can be a little finicky, but as long as I do a small warm up and pay attention to it it's fine.

It wasn't that way until I started taking MSM though, within a few weeks of adding it to my daily vitamin my shoulder felt a million times better, and so did both my elbows.

go see a doctor? You'll only have yourself to blame when it gets worse.

If it's not better in another week, I will.

Well, after a week it IS better.  Still not great.  I'm moving it around to keep it from getting stiff.

Doc will probably send me to a specialist, who will then send me to get an MRI, yada yada.

That crap gets expensive, fast.

I went through this last year, if you go through an independent imaging center the MRI comes out to like $300 - 400. A lot better than going to a hospital or a place that the doctor recommends and paying $2000 or more.
