Not bad at all. I forgot about that rifle. They only made it for a year or two? Is that the stock that came with it?

I think they are still for sale, but not this model. This one had the Manners stock from the factory.

Gorgeous rifle. Why they did not market that gun better is beyond me.

I saw one at a shop a few years ago. It was nice, but not 4K nice which was what they were asking. It was the model with the chassis.

Yeah, they are nice but appear to be overpriced. But not many folks have one. I would prefer the Manners stock over that chassis.

I think I paid $2300 for this rifle.

Hey, OP....your thread title says: Finally got a good group out of my Colt M2012.  Were you having issues getting good groups?

Yes with hand loads. I'd get a real nice group, but always a flier. Then I'd get another nice one, then it would not repeat the next week. Very frustrating. Gonna try some different powders and mess with bullet weights and seating depth. What really hurts is the horrible shitty 3.5ld Timney trigger. I called those tards today and asked if they would lighten the pull weight on the POS trigger they made. Was told, nope any lighter would make the gun unsafe!

So it has a Timney trigger? Why can't you adjust it down? I love mine.

Is that Cooper action a Remington footprint?

It is adjusted as light as it will go, 3lb. Gonna see if Rifle Basix will work on this one or make a replacement trigger for it. Theirs you can get down to 8 oz.

That must be a specialty made Timney because all the ones I've seen and owned at least adjust down to 2 lbs. I just got a 517 that I took down to 2.25 lbs. Its perfect!

If that action takes remington 700 triggers I was going to suggest a Trigger Tech.  I have their AR trigger in my Christensen VTAC......it.....is......INCREDIBLE.

While it is the same physical size it does not work. I tried a Rifle Basix trigger it did not work.

They don't "appear" to be overpriced, they are overpriced.  The newer versions in the chassis run about 3k, prior to that, they were using a laminate stock, and were running about 2300.00  No matter which way you slice that, you're at custom rifle prices.

I surf a few of the more prominent precision rifle boards on the web, and have done so for the last several years.  OP is the first person I have heard of who has purchased an M2012, let alone conducted a review of the rifle too.

By the way, photobucket is shit, they won't allow 3rd party hosting.

What are your photos of?

FALex, it was a Colt M2012 in the tan, Manner's stock.  Good lookin' gun.
