We're going to be having a big optics show of sorts at our next
long range precision rifle match at Avenal Gun Club in central
California. All of the competitors will be setting up our rifles,
binoculars, spotting scopes and laser rangefinders so people can get
some eye time on them side by side.

We know for sure that there will be models from:

US Optics, Vortex, Burris, Khales, Schmidt & Bender, Steiner,
Bushnell, Leupold, SWFA, and more and that's just the rifle scopes. There will also be a good selection of binoculars and almost certainly some spotting scopes and LRF's.

Details:

Sunday August 21st.

Registration starts at 7:00 match starts at 8:00.

Looks like the weather will be good with the temps getting to about 90°.

avenalgunclub.com for address and facility info.

Get gas IN AVENAL, not on the freeway. Save you almost a dollar a gallon that way. There's brilliant mexican food in
Avenal. Bring ice and water and some protein rich temp stable food for
the trail. Feel free to bring a pistol and jump into the pistol pit
after the match and optics show.

Match fee is $20, and this is a cash event since there's no way to take cards up there. There's a 5 dollar range fee in addition to the 20 dollar match fee.

Hotels are around about 30 minutes from the range and quality varies, best bet is up at the Harris Ranch
exit. Motel 6 there is actually ok. Don't pay for the wifi, it sucks
bawlz.

If you plan to attend, please let me know, we'll trade contact info and
you'll have someone to call if things go sideways for you on your way.

Divisions: Open and Tactical Rifle. Open is anything not .308/.223. TR is .308/.223. We have prone and barricade sub-divisions as well.

Your rifle must either be carried slung or carried in a pack. No hand carrying on the trail. The trail has 800ft of up hill sections over the 1-mile length and you walk out and back. Must stay on the trail or you can get a DQ. The area is pretty much a desert and there's almost zero shade, wear a hat and high test sunblock.
