I've been trying to get into precision shooting with my suppressed Savage FV-SR.

I currently use a Nikon Prostaff 4-12x40 but I'd like a little more magnification at 100 yards (my eyes aren't the greatest).

Budget would be $300 max (closer to $200 would be best), longest distance would be 200 yards, most common distance would be 50-100 yards

Thoughts on the two I found browsing the web?

Here's a picture of the current setup for good measure ...

As with any scope discussion, it helps knowing your budget, the max distance you'll shoot at, and the distance you'll shoot at most often

I've been looking at

Vortex PST 4-16 or 6-24
Vortex LR XLR reticle 4-16 or 6-24
Vortex PST gen 2 3-15 or 5-25
Burris XTR 3-15, 4-20, 5-25

Edit.

$300 budget..  I looked and looked for a $300ish option for mine and finally gave up.  Anything much over 10x and under $300 is going to have subpar glass.

Watch the EE for a deal would be my advice.  I actually ended up with a Burris MTAC 3.5-10 with the mil-dot reticle.  I've got about $125 in it after I sold the mount it came with.

For around $300, Ive been real happy with my SWFA SS 10X that I mounted on my CZ455 Varmint.  Very good glass for the money.

Weaver Grand Slam scopes are excellent for the money.

I'd spend about $100 more and get a Sightron S-Tac 4-20.

If you are buying a high magnification scope for a .22, make sure it has an adjustable parallax that will allow you to have a clear focus at 25 yards.  Some scopes intended for centerfire rifles cannot clearly focus that close.

Mueller

This will be showing up on my door step tomorrow.  It's going on the Ruger American Rim fire Target rifle I just bought.

I put a Hi-Lux 6-54x44 on mine. $149 from Sportsman Direct. Great scope for the money.

"6-54"?  Typo?

At a certain point glass clarity from a decent brand is going to trump magnification in my experience,  something to think about when looking at high mag scopes.

If you're alright with a fixed power, typically guys claim they have more clear glass than their more variable counterparts due to less lens and optical wizardry.
