I am building a rifle for my son to shoot. It started out as a Remington 700 AAC SD. I got rid of the POS Hogue stock and put it in a Magpul, not the best but not bad. I took it to a local gunsmith that does quite a bit of accuracy work---he has done the Precision Rifles for two local PD SWAT Teams and a couple of County Sheriff's Departments.....Good reports......

I was only going to have him thread the bolt knob. When I got it back today, he commented that it has been pretty slow the last few weeks around the shop......So....while it was there, he trued the action, added an oversized lug and set the factory barrel back two full threads and rechambered it with a new PTG match reamer----no charge.....

So, since all that work has been done I figured I would buy the boy a new trigger as well, to replace the X Mark, and I'm looking at the Trigger Tech.....

Looked up a few reviews. Looks like a good option.

I have one, it's not bad. There is a little bit of side to side play on it, but my Timneys have that play too. Good trigger for the price but no jewel.

I have not used the Calvin elite. Only the regular 510.

I just took my newly installed Remington 700 TriggerTech to the range tonight. It was a leap of faith trying that sight-unseen instead of the more common Timney, Jewell, or Rifle Basix offerings.

It used to be a chore to shoot within MOA on the old stock heavy trigger, to the point that I hated shooting that rifle. Today, I fell in love with shooting that rifle thanks to the new trigger. IMO, it's very nice for the price point.

It's possible to get the pull weight significantly lower than I got with my internal-adjustment X-Mark Pro.

I am and I love it. I'm extremely impressed for the money. I don't have experience with tolerance to the elements. Super crisp break, extremely consistent weight too. I don't have the aforementioned trigger wobble that I've noticed.

Late to the party, but yes, I run a TriggerTech on a Remington 700. Bought it last year when I put together a new rifle in 2016:

It is a superb single stage trigger. Absolutely no creep whatsoever, and the trigger flex/bowing you might feel in some triggers when you pull to the wall and are trying to get it to break is non-existent and the overtravel is negligible. Some may prefer the Timney because of the name, but I have no qualms about the TriggerTech. It is definitely better most of the Jewell Remington 700 triggers I have tried. I can usually feel a slight creep or take-up on the trigger wall just before a Jewell breaks. Of course, maybe all the folks who run them didn't set them correctly.

Out of the box, the TriggerTech is excellent. They have different versions, now though, compared to last year. They only had one 700 Trigger in early 2016.

Note: Fits an ATAICS without any modifications.

I just won a Trigger Tech at a match. I will have to start a project rifle I guess!

Neat that these Canadian triggers are so popular. Ryan Cleckner speaks highly of them too.

Have a friend that has broken two Trigger Tech's.  Then again, I know a guy who went through 3 Calvin Elite's over the course of one match...this was in New Mexico.  Have another friend that goes through Jewell's like it ain't even funny, dead serious.

It does come down to keeping them clean. Also, if you're running matches, it's best to carry a spare in your tool kit.

I run a Calvin, set at 10oz. I like it, though it is a bit "creepy" for being so light. Looking forward to the new Bix N' Andy trigger coming out.
