Get a few choice libations down the hatch and get to paining. I'd probably tape off important bits first.

I've been known to do some painting.

So, the rpr has its first coat of aervoe at the moment.

Decided on the tried and true disruptive browns.

Leaving greens off as brown works anywhere.

Aervoe coyote base
Aervoe dark brown accents

It will cure a shade lighter on the dark brown

^That looks incredible.

Some of you guys need to go into a custom rifle stock spray painting business.

Man the rifles in this thread look good!

I've had good results with pinestraw, but I never got really good with a sponge. I may have to try again.

I really have no idea but I wonder if a sponge of some sort would work?

Fins monthly spray paint budget is greater than my fuel budget.

Keep it up, I love seeing your pictures.

Good looking guns.

Does cheap paint stick to all rifle materials very well?

As long as surface oils and dirt is gone in my expiernce yes.

I've painted a few over the years and if you decide to rattle can I suggest two brands of paint that will lead you to a good outcome.

Aervoe Camo paints - there's an army surplus online store that has the best pricing and selection of colors (shipping rates too).

Krylon Fusion Camo paint. It's the easiest to get and has the quickest cure time - as in minutes. Home Depot and Lowes don't carry it (at least in Nashville) anymore so I get it at pep boys or autozone. Most ACE hardwares in town also have it.

My suggestion is to do the lightest base color first - in light coats then add your accent layers.

If you get to a point where it looks good but you think one more color/pass is needed - STOP! You will end up with a solid color of brown/green/etc....

Trust me. Had a lot of good jobs and wanted one more pass and then it looked meh.

This is a rattle can mock-up I did last week (which is why it's so rough, didn't take my time since it was just a mock-up). Ended up that I dug on it so now it's at the cerakote-er getting done properly. Sonoran coral snake pattern on my Mossberg MVP .223. My Savage 10FPSR .308 sits in a LSS chassis and has a Razor II on it just like my MVP so it's going to get a Texas coral snake look on its barrel next month to make a matched pair. Anything I can do to psyche out the competition at the next match right. ;)

I think I will try a removable spider web coating just in case I really fuck it up. Any brands y'all know of? The splatter mix we used on sub woofer boxes was permanently attached to whatever it happened to get splattered on. A special tip would make certain adhesives spray kind of a web pattern we used for foam as opposed to an even mist with others. This was thirty years ago. I don't remember brands.

Thought about spraying the RPR, I'm starting to like the gun enough to do it. Here are a couple of previous editions of the old reliable R700 with USMC return stock.

Video I made of painting my RPR with Aervo Coyote. If I did it again I would use Field Drab as the Coyote has almost a pinkish tinge to it.

Too big of a pussy to do the entire rifle. The "tan" stock looked like plywood, it was hideous. Used a camo net I have my for hiding my mud boat during duck season. It isn't pretty. But better than plywood.
