Sadly no update from me this week. Brought the 308 Tobr to the range but didn't have a chance to reload much the week prior. Pulled a bunch of factory ammo out instead. Had HORRIBLE luck with crap SSA 175gr and Nosler. Primers blown out, split in half, etc... No problems with any other brand (FGMM, Hornady, etc...), but totally ruined my day. Switched over to the SBR's and just blasted to have fun.

It sure does. Quite impressive. A few of the guys at the range want me to disassemble it completely and then reassemble and shoot it. Might just have to record myself doing that and give it a go. See where we end up. I know it's been done, but if I can do it quickly AND manage to shoot the 25 rounds in the 10 minute cycle, I think it might be relatively impressive. I've got to talk with the guys who run the range and see if they can give me a break on the no touching your weapon when the range is cold. See if they'll let me touch it when it's in pieces. I've got to get to shooting that 12" more as well. I've just been slacking on the 223 reloading since I've been so focused on the Tobr and trying to get my 300 Blackout reloading back up and running. |

Wonder what the result of having 9 out of 10 in SPR division shooting hand loads too would be ...
Is it all in the hand loads, or is a little of it that handloaders are a wee bit more careful on the trigger ... Or is it that the slight difference between bolt guns and gas guns is having the round savagely stripped from the magazine and bum rushed into the chamber ... ETA - Don't nobody get upset here, I'm just typing out loud, like I was doing when I mumbled about the Dial Calipers vs OnTarget |

I'm also looking through the top ten and see that 7 of the top ten are running billet receivers. The other 3 might be, but I can't find the posts to see a picture of the rifle. Similar to what Mark stated, does that mean billet receivers tend to be more accurate, or that people are more likely to use billet receivers for precision builds?

They were very similar. I will bring that rifle to the range too and if I have time make up some new loads with very minor powder adjustments. I also wanna try a couple different powders... Though I've been loving the 8208. It couples perfectly with both the 77gr smk and Nosler CC. |
