After a bunch of load development, Im now repeatedly getting .5 MOA accuracy with 220 grain Hornady Interlocks at 100 yards with my GSR and 2.5 X Leupold scout scope. Recoil is manageable and accuracy is incredible too.  Best accuracy with 165 Interlocks  consistly printed 1.5" MOA.
I took another young Nilgai bull with my scout with my 165 Interlocks and did not get a pass through. Friday though, I was able to make a long stalk and get within 150/175 yards of this herd and take this young bull with these new 220 loads I came up with. 1 shot and done, and I easily got a pass through. I never heard of anyone using 220 grain pills in a 308 (besides subs), but this is now my go to combo!

Alot of folks shoot 208/210 Gr bullets with Reloder 17. I was getting 2550 FPS out of a 22" barrel. Very respectable. What powder are you using? Velocity?

Definitely a young buck. Time to test it on a 500 pounder.

Good shoot.

Just watched the gel test on Hornady web site. Holly shit does it expand the gel. Will have to check them out for my 308. Just finished load development on the 200 ELD-X with RL-17 and now working on the 208 ELD-M with IMR 4166. What powder did you use and how much?

Took the Hornady 220's out to 200 and 300 yards for the first time today and I'm really happy with the results.I'm dropping 6" from my 100 yd zero but still managed 1.4" group at 200 yds. Then took it all the way out to 300 yds and used the duplex as a BDC reticle (read an article on this online). If I use where the fine crosshair meets the fat duplex, this exactly my zero for 300 yds with my 220 grainers. This is my first time ever shooting on paper at 300 yds with my scout. For hunting, 300 yards is my limit. Tried my 165s at 200 yards. They hit point of aim at 200 yds. Im very happy with the 220 Interlocks accuracy and I was finally able to take a Nilgai and they worked as I had hoped. I agree, this is a small bull, been waiting on a big bull, but I'm a meat hunted and just can't pass it up. Hopefully I'll get a chance on a tougher bull or hog to recover a bullet for review. The more I sjoot this scout, the more I like it. Shots were taken prone position off a Harris bipod. Using Varget, but not sure what my velocity is.

I use Berger 230gr OTMs for killing steel with my .308, don't know how they work on game.

They would be fine. I took a cow Nilgai this winter and a mountain goat 4 years ago with 185 Berger VLD. Both one shot kills.
