I like putting wire snares in fence lines. Yotes are extreme suckers for a snare. If you have field wire fences and can find where they go through you can catch them. This guy knows coyote killin'. You never know what you're going to get when you check your trapline... El Chupacabra? |

I think they've been feeding on the rabbits I've been popping. This one was shot at about 45 yards. Gun is a Colt Gold Cup .22, ammo was CCI stingers. Ran about 25 yards and piled up. Round entered on the right side, near the back of the rib cage and exited just behind the left shoulder. View Quote That is amazing that a 22lr from a handgun would go through & through. I shot a coyote with Q3131 (5.56 nato) from an AR15 at 75~ yards and to my surprise the bullet did not exit. |

How do you decide which one to slap on a lower and hunt? notebook on my handloads, cold bore fouled shot ect. I prefer a fouled bore cold shot. really if ya handload alot of barrels like certain stuff. 52 gr Sierra.HPBT. being my favorite. Lowers are good to go with all uppers. I prefer SPIKE's lowers, WOA tuned RRA triggers. under 200 yds. it's a free put. anything around 50 gr. is a POP if I do my end. I like Reloader 10, Varget extruded powders, rem. 7 1/2 primers. 1-7....1-8..........1-9 twist barrels. I throw diff. lights on at times for night work. uppers are night and day work. night time 50-75 yards. then again I'm just an old FUDD Hillbilly. these are kind a 5 shot group at 100 your lookin for. all barrels vary to a degree on what they like......try and find a " happy load " then you dial in. |

Recent encounters with a Coyote outside my back gate where I feed the smaller critters table scraps and such have brought in scouts from the pack.
My Aimpoint was not yet zero'd, and my shot hit the fence post within inches of a head shot. The shot went through the post so I'm not sure if I grazed it. There was no blood so I'm guessing he/it/they will be back for more freebees. During the nights all around us there are several packs of Coyotes howling in the distance. Is baiting them something that will bring them in? Lets find out. I just got back from the butcher with pig entrails and such that I'm planning to hang in a tree at about 5' by means of mesh netting. This should do the trick to draw them in, I hope. I won't miss this time. The first to get shot will also be hanging. Who knows, my doing so may bring in bigger predator. |

You suggest something you would not do? I don't get it.
Talk about frame work! Heck no it's not legal. To add to the subject it's inhumane. |

SkyPup.... You are a madman (and very good at it)!
What in the heck is all that stuff on that helmet? Define it for me, I'm lost... |
|
[#42]
On the front is a FLIR Government Systems military contract M-24 640X512 TAU 2.7 thermal core attached to a Nortoros INVG mount using a Wilcox dovetail adapter to the Team Wendy Ex-Fil helmet. This allows me to see in the dark about three times the distance of automobile high beam headlamps without anything seeing me, every living thing that has a body temperature different than the brush and trees stands out like a sore thumb.
Then there is a variety of IR 850nm emitters on my helmet including two for long range ID illumination and three or four Princeton Tec IR's for short range handiwork. Also on top is an IR blinking emitter to signal others NV hunters of my location. |
