I had a chance to get out and do some calling the other day and ended up calling in a group of 3-4 but never had a clear shot. I've called in a lot of doubles but never a triple or more, and very few total so far this year.

I went back out this morning and thinned them out a bit

When you hunt at night and shoot long range, do you call them in? It must be a blast shooting yotes at night

I have called them in before at night, but that one was a favor for a friend that lost 2  Sheep in 2 nights and I knew when they showed up. I actually sat on his porch watching over his pasture and watched her "sneak" into the fence. Pretty fun, just put the IR laser on her and pulled the trigger, OBR was on a tripod next to me . I usually record it with my Iphone but I saw her as soon as I was getting set up and didn't want to lose her.

He just called me and said they were yipping again last night, so maybe tomorrow I'll have more pix.

Those were called with a FoxPro - bird distress brought them in.

I've had luck with the Vole squeals.   I have a serious red and grey fox problem here.

We've had beautiful weather lately, unfortunately I've been extremely busy with classes and work that I haven't had time to go hunting.

I decided to get out this morning and do some calling and ended up getting this young male on the first stand. Had a nice black tipped tail, more defined then others I've got in the past.

A couple of foxes I dumped with the shotgun from yesterday's afternoon hunt with one of my Coyote Clinic graduates. He got some shots off, but couldn't connect - at least he got to see some critters come in to the call!

This was an interesting hunt, chased her through the brush for a hundred yards going back and forth with her with aggressive howls and barks. First time I actually pursued an aggressive barking coyote instead of trying to lure them out. They we're very vocal, just didn't want to leave their cover and come out in the open so I went to them.

So after passing on three deer, its was getting late, and a large doe came running through the woods past my shooting lane.....she would not stop and I f*cking missed (with my suppressed Encore 308.)  About 10 seconds later, I found out why the doe was running.  This little bastard was hunting all the same deer i was and was running fast after her.  Needless to say, I didnt miss him.  Dirt nap.
