Marmot......

.223 14" Contender with a 2.5-8X Leupold, 50 gr. Hornady SPSX and 13gr. of Blue Dot.

Shot was 175 ish from the Creedmore position on bare rocks.

P-dogs......

Typical p-dogs.

These guys made their new homes too close to my shooting spot.

The gun is a Stag upper with an Aimpoint Comp from the Ziti deal.  220+yds from the sitting position. I sighted in a cheap scope for this gun on a B-square mount the next day.

The dot is just too hard to use on small targets at that range.

Nice pics NGO!
My kids have quite the skull collection as well.

Things a little more to your liking out here, versus back here?

Dave ,

Yes we do love it, wife and kids love it.
But we are from AZ orginally so being out west with people who haveing more people who have a more indepedant streak suits us well.

Plus we like the wide open spaces, which I have noticed can freak out people who are use to having trees all around them. I was tried of the closed in feeling back east from always being surrounded by trees.

Hear we can go into the mountians and not run into anyone for four or five days, just couldn't do that back east. Plus hear I can drive a 20 mintues and be out in the wilderness for free, could do that in Calvert County it was always a couple hour drive and it cost money.

But like I said , I'm from AZ and am use to the west.

Thanks, personal use. No wait , kids want the skins.

I'm just working on skinning and tanning skills in prep for SHTF or TEOTWAWKI and will need to know how to make buckskin for durable clothing.

My bobcat from last night

A coyote from a week ago

This one I shot at 25 feet

I Love Predator Hunting!

A couple of badgers - these things are super ferocious, killed these 2 within 5 feet of me.

Predator calling is the best hunting out there, IMO. Been doing it for over 4 years and have had some great experiences, and there's nothing that gets your chest pounding like a coyote or bobcat coming in to the call!

ETS: Sure wish we had some p-dogs around here, though!

Rizzo, what kind of call set up do you use?

Looks like it's working for you.

I do pretty well.

I use hand calls mostly, though I just ordered my first digital caller (we'll see how that goes . . .). Best advice I can give is to DIVERSIFY! Every other hunter out there is blowing that call like it says to on the package, so don't do that! Come up with some unique sounds, open reed calls are the best for that. Get a good howler and practice - summer and late winter are the best time for howling in some dogs. I like the ELK Power Howler but Tony Tebbe makes some badass custom horn howlers.

I just started using a commercial decoy (after 4 years of calling), and so far, it's done me really good. I use the Quiver Critter from Edge and it's great, easy to carry and fairly inexpensive. I used it to get that bobcat that's pictured above, and it landed a coyote this last week right into my lap - literally! So I recommend some type of decoy. I've used socks and feathers to limited success in the past, but these new decoys on the market are so great, just buy one!

Just remember PAWS, and you'll do fine
P rotection - cover, moving in, out, and setting up
A ltitude - get where you can see out, get up on a little stool if you can, even try a tree stand
W ind - not into your face! Crosswind is best, but try some upwind for fast action
S un - don't be looking into it, watch your shadow, and don't skyline yourself

Another one bites the dust!

My farthest shot to date - 200 yards. I try to get them in closer than that, but this guy was determined to hang around out there.

ETA: I'm really enjoying my new decoy - they're worth every penny!

Rizzo,  what kind of decoy is that?

It is the Quiver Critter from Edge by Expedite. It is about $25 and in my opinion, better than most other decoys I've tried at double the price. Easy to carry and easy to setup - can't beat it.

My first coyote, took him the night before this pic at about 75 yards.  lit up his eyes with a surefire G2 and shot him right in the mouth!  This was about a year or two ago, I don't have anywhere to go hunting except once or twice a year =(

Rizzo, you are a varmint smokn' mofo!

We had a nice cat under the light last night but he got away. He came to the squeeker like a missle from about 100 yards out. My buddy (the shooter) "couldn't see him" and the cat spooked at 30 yards. Maybe next time...

<----Drizz's son speaking.....

Pics from Antelope Hunt this year in Wyoming....

3 Coyotes Shot....all by me xD

Coyote 1- jumped out of truck grabbing my dads AR-15, One shot....was scroungy and small.  Did not have camera with.

Coyote 2-Came into call, came running straight at me. I couldnt get him to stop with barks or anything. 20yrds i shot and missed. Keep in mind i was using my .270 sighted in for about 200 yrds for antelope. He then wheeled to my left and i swung on him.  Dropped him in dead sprint. Hit right behind front leg.  Never seen one roll the way he did. Pretty good looking fur for Western Yote.

Pic!

Coyote 3-Came into call, sat about 200 yards out looking for source....Shifted to my left, hit him dead center in the chest....he sat on his ass and then tipped over backwards.  This one had a lil mange to it too....  .270 as well.

Pic!

Just like to add....my dad did a great paint job on the camo for my rifle (his...rifle .270).    Helped me get the 2 yotes and my antelope. Load was nice too...did not leave a noticable exit wound on coyotes except for a little blood...but on my antelope...it fragmented inside the chest cavity and did not exit.  When i cut diaphram nuthing but mush...no lungs at all.
