I just love the Florida landscape... this is a view from one of my favorite spots... this is the stand I shot the 8-pt and 6-pt from last week. The 8-pt was off to my right and the 6-pt was off to the left behind the big palmetto bush you see.

It's convenient. Right out the back door. I put a small window in the back wall of the upper floor of my barn and cut a shooting lane.

I didnt believe him until i went up one year for opening day.. He was shitting on pot drinking coffee when the deer would show up on the edge of the tree line. Hes been doing it for years now.

A little different picture now, nothing is green.

First year my son went rifle hunting.  The clearing angles off to the left.  The elevated stand is to the right of me taking the pic.  (He wore the same vest the first year he went hunting with me at 3 years old.  The vest went past his knees.)

I have two favorites.  :)  One is an AR stand down, natural funnel in the bottoms that we have made some enhancements to take advantage of nature and deer instincts.  It is the up close and personal, in your face type of hunting, easily bow hunted as well.

Likely my most favorite is the hilltop pictured below.  Longest sendero is 400 yards to the bottom, feeder is 200 yards into the brush along side the creek running from my left to right.  Not shown in this picture is the bottom off the to the left, with a sendero going right past it 175 yards and dead ends into the bottom.  I have a huge spring fed pond and another clearing running left to right on the other side of the bottom, I have trimmed windows through this brush and can see through it into the bedding area on the other side.

I should get another picture of the N side.  I have no windows in the back of this stand, and the S window (on the right) typically stays closed.  My stands are black on the inside, and I wear all black up top including a face mask.  The outside of my widows are also painted black so they see the "black holes" whether we are in the stand or not.

I took this picture last year on Thanksgiving Day. I hunted the same spot today, and it was sixty degrees. I didn't see anything today though. Wind was howling ontop of that ridge.

This is just behind my house, it's not a stand it's a pole barn that will keep you dry and break the cold north wind.  Yes that is a shooting bench my muzzle loader is sitting on.

Sunrise this morn just after 7 AM in the Arkansas Ozarks.  Temp was 25°.

At 9:43 AM I had a doe step out at 117 yards according to my laser rangefinder.  A handloaded 165 grain Hornady SST over H4895 at 2690 FPS from the Armalite AR10 sealed the deal.  She's the dark spot at the point of the arrow.

How in the hell did you get that arrow to fall on her like that? What type of bow you using to chunk that big thing. Must be a Luminok arrow. You can see it glowing after the shot

Spent a lot of time looking at this view over the last two months. Missed one with the 300 BLK from the blind, only shot we got from it. We did get four does from the field.

Lucky to hunt private land in Ohio this year. We drove up from FL for thanksgiving and hunting. I'm on a hill, not in a stand.

Little spot in central Mo.  Killed my best buck ever from this tree on Nov. 11.

Killed last years bow buck over by the bigger cedar where the bow limb is pointing. 24 yds.

This years bow buck was just to the right of that small oak. 7 yds

Good stand of white oaks.

This in one of my favorite spots... it also happens to be on my own property... in north Florida... took these tonight just before a spike passed by. I've killed some nice bucks out of this stand over the years, including a 198 pound 6-point. A few weeks ago my brother shot a 10-point from this stand.

Here's mine. My friend's property about an hour away, he doesn't hunt but is happy to have me do it. I sit under an evergreen tree that's parked in the middle of the action. Sometimes it seems too close. They either come out of the woods to the left or are heading for them.

Stand by, pics to follow.  Just finished getting this one up tonight, and it's a miracle I didn't get crushed in the process.
Pro-tip: Be sure the ol' guy on the tractor knows when to STOP pulling.

eta: Clean up work on it today.  Installed the umbrella, removed transport boards, replaced damaged limb holders, etc.  Pics:

Made a helluva' racket in there over the last few days, including today, getting this thing up.  Figured there wouldn't be a deer in the county for weeks following but decided to take 'er for a test run this afternoon anyway.
Shot a 9-point from a climber tree, 30 yards away, last Thursday and somehow ripped the battery cover/switch off the scope in the aftermath. Leupold calls me back about it while I'm up there this evening.  "Sorry man, gotta' go, here come the doe's."
There's at least 6 in this frame:

Huh, the new stand doesn't seem to bother them too much.  8 or 9 doe's passed through like a parade again tonight.
They came in from behind me on the left instead of their usual spot from due left/north. The first few did divert around a bit and then later I spooked 2 or 3? coming in the same way while taking pics of the earlier arrivals.  Shoulda' known there would be more behind the first batch.
I don't intend to shoot any more this year but it's nice to get up there and just watch 'em a while.

eta 2-10:  Ha, 3rd day in a row (and last day of the season ).

I'm sitting there looking to my left and behind me, turn around, and they've wandered in directly downwind, right in front of a game cam.  They're not supposed to do that!
Pics from my camera while they're standing in front of the game cam:

What camera and lens did you use for the deer and sheep pictures?  What were the distances?

Buddies camera, exif data says it's a Nikon Coolpix P510, IIRC it's a point and shoot model. The deer were about 30 yards (lots of them up here, not too spooked usually) and the sheep were lased at 130 yards.

Great pics guys, especially with deer in view. We all have our own honey holes. Mine is/was in Suffield, CT on private land. Owner has 120 acres, been hunting now for close to 30 years and have taken dozens of deer. Last spring he clear cut the land, taking out most oak trees, went there opening day, looked like a bomb went off..
Looks soooo different now.
Yeah it will be sometime before things grow in a bit

New 8'x8' stand.  Hopefully I will have it sided with windows and a door on it in the next couple months.  It overlooks a swamp and pond on one side and our hay field on the other.  Shot a doe last year out of it.  Wish I had better pics of the view.
