20 meters is wide open into Europe. Lots of booming DX stations.

Also there is a CW contest going on. The band looks really packed, like a "matrix" on the bandscope waterfall. Here is a good chance to work some rare DX stations. You don't need to file a contest report to participate.

Wow, major contest. 40 still going like crazy this morning.
time to jump in and make a few contacts. Heard a guy from Ohio calling a JA, but i couldnt hear him.

Its raining here. Which typically means my antenna doesn't work... I'm getting some moisture intrusion which I can't track down, so my home antenna is very high SWR in the rain yay... That may be part of it... I did hear 1 strong station when I Checked earlier, and like 2 barely heard ones on 20... The strong one was in the extra portion of the band.

That's the reason I got my Extra license. It hurt me to hear all that good DX on the frequencies I couldn't use as a General.
