I'm staying near Lyman, WY through tonight if anyone needs a contact.  I can do most bands with a little warning.

If it weren't for the crowds, this would be a great place to live.

There was a K5E.. station way down in the noise.  I now have S9 noise floor here.  Changing to 20m.  I'll find a freq in a few minutes.

14.319 is quiet.

If you are still on 7.225 - I can't hear a thing through the static.

Whoops. just saw the move to 20 meters. I can hear faint whispers below the static. I've twisted knobs and pushed buttons and none of them are fixing it.

I was able to here piccolo, but shortly lost everything to the static monster.

I have since been out all night attempting to better my antenna situation. I did not have success.

I switched to 14.310.  It's very quiet here.

ETA:

Called CQ a few times and nothing heard.  I'll listen here for a while.

I'm going to have to relocate the antenna due to reports of hearing my voice over some computer speakers from the upstairs neighbor.

Are you still going? Where are you listening?

I have had fairly poor propagation all day, but its functionally free to key down and try.

I forgot to post here last night, but on my way home from work I called CQ ARFCOM for eight or nine minutes on that 20m freq mentioned above.  I think it was 14.310?  Nothing heard in response, but then you have to be booming in pretty loud for me to hear you on that mobile setup.  It's pretty deaf.

My last two nights on the road will be spent in Plaxico, KS, which is near Topeka.  I went through Air Force basic in 1972 at Forbes AFB, so this is like a homecoming . . . sort of.

I have 40m up and running and I'm hearing people all over the band.  I'll find a frequency around 7.200 at 7:30 PM CDT and see who's out there.  By the way, Little Boy says HI.

If you haven't been to the Combat Air Museum at Forbes, you should stop by if you have time.  Lot of near aircraft there.

I have not been there.  Tomorrow is a day off from traveling, so I'll try to get there.  I've been to Wright-Patterson many times and the Air & Space museums in DC more times than I can count.  This is the only remaining pic from my AF days.  Taken at Sheppard in TX.

One of the biggest mistakes of my life was getting out shortly after training.

7.215 is quiet here.  Calling CQ now.
