Looks like there are a lot of 1x2 calls coming up in area 5 all on the same day. Anyone know why they are all opening up in the same day? Did someone do research into SKs and submit them all on the same day? FCC doing house cleaning?
Anyway, there are a lot of 1x2s opening up in a few days.

How do you find what will be available in the near future?  Not that I am looking, but I am curious.

No problem! I like Radio QTH for finding available calls, but AE7Q's prediction feature is hard to beat.

it's a bit of a convoluted labyrinth to figure out.  that AE7Q website has some instructions on how to do it.  tells you what the rules are for calls coming up for grabs after a call expires or goes SK, how the application process works, how to pay, etc.

when i did mine, i had to make a ranked list of preferences.  i ended up getting my second choice (1st choice was the sweet, sweet call AC4A, which would have sounded great in Morse code, not to mention how cool the DX phonetic alphabet is for that call ).

the rules/timing is something you have to read through a couple times, & act on quickly before you forget all the ins/outs of the process.  there are a couple gotchas, if i remember right.
