Embrace the RF ETA: Cheapest way to get some radio time and quite possibly get some DX is to download echolink and get it registered to your call sign when you get it. Then check into the Friday night ArF echolink/IRLP net. Total cost: nada. Echolink is a free program. Then you can use that money saved toward a radio.

I'm sure I'll be as resistant to the "hey, check out what followed me home from HRO" posts as I am to the "hey, check out what followed me home from the LGS."
Oh. Shit. I expect I'll start with a HT or two, but at this point I think the biggest draw to me is mobile/portable ops (and alternative power). Yes, I've checked out the Emcomm box threads. Looking forward to the ride! |

Trying to limit the drooling to HTs and mobiles for the time being. Space constraints (among other things) limit my ability to go all shack nasty for the time being...
