To clarify for anyone else reading, I should have posted "one Japan station" the band isn't filled with JAs, but one guy was coming in great. Still plenty of action though.

Still open to Europe & SA early today! If the bands holds up, somewhere near sunset it will switch & favor the West from me.

For the hell of it, I let JT65 run on 10M and report to PSK Reporter from 17:00 UTC until now. Here is what I ended up with. I was hoping for more Europe.
I would be curious to see what guys from the East Coast see. Anyone want to do the same tomorrow and post your results?

I have so much fun with seeing you guys talk in a ho-hum fashion about what would be "wet my pants" DX for me, and then talk about holy grail Japan when it looks like this on my end. Just goes to show, it is all about location.

Yeah it is funny how we all consider different entities to be "rare DX"  I can get JAs and VKs somewhat regularly though far from common. Just about anything else in Asia is what I drool over.
On the other hand, I'm closer to Africa and I try to work any entity from there because there are just aren't as many operators there. I heard Burkina Faso today, but I just couldn't get them.

I was working Saturday...10m was cooking
had my little 25watt HTX-10 zip tied in and a snipped chicken bander mag mount worked a ton of Europe in the morning

Here's what it looks like from Vegas. Asia is just opening up, so I expect the west to fill in nicely over the next few hours. I wish I could get further into Europe from here!
ETA: My setup is nothing fancy... FT-857D, YT-100 tuner and a G5RV Lite in an inverted V configuration, the legs run east / west, with the feedpoint about 21' high and the ends about 11' high.

10M is still wide open here, and I expect Japan, China, Singapore, etc. to fill in more. I had two hits on Europe, and one "wet my pants" station in Africa. I was away and did not work him.
Raysheen, your results are amazing to me, only because your location gives you what I don't see. You are lucky to have a good number of small countries across the water from you. Across the water from me are only a few large countries. Makes it much harder to get DXCC from my QTH. |
